Occupational Health & Safety

Pelligra is fully committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and contractors.

The Pelligra Health & Safety Management System is accredited to AS/NZS 4801 :2001 and is regularly monitored and updated as required. This responsibility extends to all aspects of our project and site management, including subcontractors and suppliers that visit and work on our construction sites.

Pelligra ensures that all contractor agreements address safe work methods, safe equipment and all other OH&S standards. We undertake weekly safety inspections and also commission regular independent site audits. Our OH&S representative is on site regularly and meets with sub-contractors to identify areas of risk before and during site activities.

What is a commercial builder?

Commercial Builders registered in the CB-U class are responsible for the construction of shops, offices, factories and other buildings. They also examine clients’ plans/documents, tender for projects, submit plans and a building surveyor for approval and organise inspections of building work.

Builders need excellent logistic, negotiation and supervision skills to ensure their construction projects are completed on time and on budget. Pelligra abides by the Australian Institute of Building and the Victorian Licensing process and understands the procedure required to obtain a commercial builders license.
